What it's made of
Your tea sits in it for hours, so we were picky about what it touches.

Powder-coated steel
Medical-grade stainless steel with a powder coat on the outside. Powder coat is baked on, so it’s tougher than paint and gives the mug its matte finish.
Inside, it’s bare steel. No coating. No lining.

Why Tritan
We wanted a press with no plastic at all, so we looked at glass and steel first.
Glass can chip, and you don’t want a chip of glass in your tea. Steel gets too hot to touch in boiling water.
Tritan was our best option. It’s made without BPA and approved for food use around the world.
A University of Cincinnati study put it to the test. Water sat in different bottles for days. Hard plastic bottles made with BPA leaked it into the water. Tritan bottles? The lab found none.
